The tiny chapel of Agios Nikolaos is carved into the center of a vertical, imposing rock on Mount Amaderos, east of Vonitsa. The chapel, according to local tradition, was created following the "wish" of the icon of Agios Nikolaos since it had been observed that it "left" the chapel of Koukoumitsa, where it had its oldest location and ended in a small cave on the slopes of Amaderos.
